Isabel, mother of 1

I never really thought about getting a parenting coach, but when I met Kathryn at a moms’ Thanksgiving, we naturally started talking about motherhood. I was honest with her about the mom guilt I was carrying, how I wanted to be a more patient, loving mother to my son, and how—despite reading so many self-help books—I still found myself being “the angry mom.”

Kathryn introduced me to the Jai Institute for Parenting and offered to be my coach. I thought, “Why not?” and I am so glad I gave it a chance.

This program gave me tools I didn’t even know I needed—tools to understand my feelings, regulate my emotions, and then pass those same skills on to my son. Before working with Kathryn, I yelled a lot, I was impatient, and I started to notice my son reacting the same way I did in tough situations. That only frustrated me more, and the cycle continued.

With Kathryn’s guidance, I’ve learned how to break that cycle. I listen to my son more. I hear him out. Growing up, my emotions weren’t heard or validated, and I never learned how to process them—so I was unintentionally passing that on to my child. Now, I’m creating a different story for us.

Kathryn not only listened to me and guided me through the program, but she also recommended wonderful books, shared helpful videos, and offered encouragement when I needed it most. There were tears—lots of them—but they were necessary to release the weight I’d been carrying and make room for the mom I truly want to be.

I am so thankful for Kathryn’s support and compassion. I recommend her to any mama who feels frustrated in motherhood, who carries heavy mom guilt, who feels alone, or who struggles with anger. This program can truly help you step into the best version of yourself as a mom.
